Noise-Induced Linearisation and Delinearisation
نویسنده
چکیده
It is demonstrated, by means of analogue electronic simulation and theoretically, that external noise can markedly change the character of the response of a nonlinear system to a low-frequency periodic field. In general, noise of sufficient intensity linearises the response. For certain parameter ranges in particular cases, however, an increase in the noise intensity can sometime have the opposite effect and is shown to delinearise the response. The physical origins of these contrary behaviours are discussed. Permanent address: All Russian Institute for Metrological Service, Andreevskaya nab 2, 117965 Moscow, Russia. Linearisation, Minimisation and Transformation of Data Graphs with Transients
This thesis introduces data graphs as a formal model for the objects in a programming system’s memory, and describes three services on such data graphs: linearisation, minimisation, and transformation. The SEAM system offers an abstract store that provides a programming language’s implementor with a platformand language-independent abstraction layer, hiding the complex issues of memory manageme...
متن کاملNoise-Induced Linearisation
It is found that the response of a nonlinear dynamical system can be linearised, and its frequency dispersion diminished, by the addition of external noise of sufficient intensity. Taking as an example an overdamped bistable system driven by a low-frequency periodic field, this noise-induced linearisation is investigated through analogue electronic experiments. The wider implications are consid...

This paper develops high performance system identification and linearisation techniques, using a genetic algorithm. The algorithm is fine tuned by simulated annealing, which yields a faster convergence and a more accurate search. This global search technique is used to identify the parameters of a system described by an ARMAX model in the presence of white noise and to approximate a nonlinear m...
متن کاملLinearisation of Transmitter and Receiver Nonlinearities in Optical OFDM Transmission
In this paper, linearisation of transmitter and receiver nonlinearities of an optical Intensity Modulation/Direct Detection system using digital signal processing is presented and analysed. The system performance is estimated on basis of the signal-to-interference-and-noise ratio. Furthermore, the bit error performance of a linearised system is compared to a non-linearised one.
متن کاملEfficient Linearisation of Sigma-Delta Modulators using Single-Bit Dither
Sigma-delta modulation, where a single-bit quantiser is embedded within a negative feedback loop (Fig. 1), is now a commonly-used technique for implementing high-resolution analogue-to-digital and digital-toanalogue converters (DACs), principally because of a favourable insensitivity to component tolerancing [1]. Single-bit quantisation generates relatively high levels of quantisation noise, he...
